The Right Test

The best way to prevent a life-threatening condition is through early detection, managing risk factors and appropriate treatment. With our modern capabilities, we can pinpoint neurologic problems early.. before it’s too late to make a difference. Our diagnostic facilities are available both with and without consultation.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) Testing - This painless test can show normal and abnormal brain activity, highlighting patterns that suggest cognitive impairment (encephalopathy) or the possibility of seizures.  In addition to our in-office testing, we offer overnight digital EEG services.  The patient will leave wearing a light-weight monitor, collecting information as they go about their day.

Carotid Ultrasound (CUS) and Transcranial Doppler (TCD) – Our high resolution ultrasound is an excellent non-invasive tool for looking at blood flow to the brain.  And with the Transcranial Doppler, we can examine the circulation deep in the brain, helping to detect patients at risk for stroke.

EMG & Neuromuscular Medicine -  Electromyography (EMG) gives essential information about health and function of a patient’s nerve and muscles.  The tests are especially useful in evaluating weakness or tingling and to help diagnose problems like carpal tunnel syndrome and neck and back pain.

Imaging - Neurologic assessment often requires anatomic pictures of the brain, spinal cord, arteries, veins and nerves. There are a myriad of ways to image the body, from MRI and CT scans that look at structure of the area, to DAT and PET scans to examine the function. Early consultation allows for selection of best imaging type for your problem.
